Lucknow: Union home minister Amit Shah is likely to attend the much-awaited state executive meeting of the Uttar Pradesh BJP later this month.

Sources said that besides Shah, the meeting is scheduled to be addressed by CM Yogi Adityanath , UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary and a host of other senior leaders from the state unit. Sources said that the much-anticipated meeting is expected to be preceded by the constitution of the state executive, a key organisational body that will bring together senior leaders and functionaries to deliberate on the party’s political priorities and implementation of its electoral roadmap. A senior UP BJP leader said that the constitution of the state executive and the completion of district- and region-level organisational structures are crucial to establishing a clear chain of command ahead of the elections. Sources said that the meeting is likely to be more than a routine organisational gathering.

The proposed meeting is expected to lay out a broader blueprint for the party’s ground-level preparations, with an emphasis on strengthening its organisational machinery, consolidating support among key social groups and preparing its cadre for an intensive election campaign. The exercise comes at a time when BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit is accelerating the formation of its organisational structures at the district and regional levels. The party is also expediting the constitution of its various frontal wings, including those tasked with mobilising Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, women, youth and farmers. It could mark the transition from the ongoing exercise of restructuring the party organisation to a more focused phase of election preparation.
