Mahendra Singh Tanwar has officially assumed the role of the 59th district magistrate of Kanpur Nagar as of Wednesday. This appointment marks a significant leadership change in the district’s administration.
He stated that his top priority will be to ensure that benefits of public welfare schemes reach the last person in line—in accordance with the govt’s intent—and public grievances are resolved promptly.

The DM said that Kanpur Nagar was the third district where he was going to serve as the DM after Sant Kabir Nagar and Kushinagar. Priority will be given to issues of public interest through better coordination with officials and a spirit of teamwork, he added. He visited offices to review work procedures, record-keeping, and disposal of cases. He directed the officials and staff to ensure that the tasks are executed in a timely, transparent, and high-quality manner and public grievances are resolved on a priority basis.
Earlier in the morning, he took charge at the treasury and after the introduction of officials and employees, he inspected the Collectorate premises and issued necessary directives.
