Body of a 28-year-old man found seated on scooter discovered in Chhawani Maidan, Meerut
MEERUT: The body of a 28-year-old man was found seated on a scooter in the Chhawani Maidan area, under the TP Nagar police station limits, on Wednesday, prompting his family to allege foul play.
SP City Vinayak Bhosle told TOI, “The deceased was a habitual alcoholic. Passersby spotted the body and informed the police. Police inspected the scene and collected evidence. We have also recovered several substances from his possession. Prima facie, he died owing to drug overdose. He added, “We have sent the body for autopsy, though no FIR has been filed. police have so far cited drug overdose as the prima facie cause While the family has raised suspicion of murder. No FIR has been registered yet.
On seeing the body, the family described the death as suspicious and expressed suspicion of murder.
