Winners at the Dewan Jagat Mohan Lal Memorial AITA National Series Under-18 Tennis Tournament in Prayagraj on Friday.
Prayagraj: Delhi’s Gyans Manchanda and Uttar Pradesh’s Anay Pandey won the boys’ doubles title, while Madhya Pradesh’s Asmi Raghuvanshi and Manusmriti Singh clinched the girls’ doubles crown at the Dewan Jagat Mohan Lal Memorial AITA National series under-18 tennis tournament in Prayagraj on Friday. The third-seeded Manchanda-Pandey pair defeated Uttar Pradesh’s Abhyuday Singh and Anuruddh Kumar 6-3, 7-5 in the boys’ doubles final. In the girls’ doubles final, top-seeded Raghuvanshi and Singh beat Uttar Pradesh’s third-seeded Aashi Shamsheri and Ira 6-4, 6-1 to claim the title.
Abhyuday defeated Delhi’s seventh seed Lakshya Drall in the first semi-final. Rishi then overcame Telangana’s eighth seed Raghav Prabhu in the other semi-final to set up an all-Uttar Pradesh title clash. The tournament is being organised by the Tennis Development Welfare Society (TDWS) in association with Allahabad Gymkhana Tennis Academy.
