The participation of Muslims emerged as a talking point during the event, with several participants expressing support for the BJP and predicting that the party would return to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2027, with Yogi Adityanath as chief minister. Gorakhpur : Members of the Muslim community, including students from madrassas, participated in large numbers in the BJP’s ‘Loktantra Bachao-Arajakta Hatao’ march in the presence of chief minister Yogi Adityanath in the city on Wednesday.

Mau resident Feroz Ansari, who came to attend the march, claimed that at least 25% of Muslims would vote for BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.
Participants said Muslims were treated merely as vote banks and confined to menial roles during previous govts, alleging that the community faced suppression and that lawlessness prevailed under the earlier regimes. “We stand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” he said. Asked about the reasons behind the community’s support, participants said govt had kept Hindu-Muslim politics aside and ensured that welfare schemes reached poor Muslims without discrimination. “We need leaders who deliver on the ground, not merely those who make speeches,” said Ansari.
They claimed the present govt is providing the benefits of welfare schemes to the Muslim community without discrimination.
