In Agra, a 25-year-old man has been re-arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old Dalit girl at a farm on September 3. This incident follows his release on bail about a year ago in connection with an attempted murder case. The police have confirmed the details of the case and are currently investigating the matter further.
Based on a complaint, an FIR was registered at the local thana under BNS sections 65 (1) ( rape ) and 351 (criminal intimidation) along with the SC/ST Act and Pocso Act . SP (Mathura-rural), Suresh Chandra Rawat, said the accused had a dispute with a youth from his village in 2022. A case was subsequently registered at Jait police station under IPC 307 (attempt to murder), and he was sent to jail.
