Lucknow: Praising PM Narendra Modi for his “penance, spiritual discipline, struggle and a desire to accomplish something for the country”, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday laid out details of programmes that will be organised in the state under the ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark 25 years of the PM’s political life.
On Oct 7, he will complete 25 years as the head of govt, first as the CM of Gujarat and then as the PM of the country. To express gratitude for this journey, the state govt and the BJP organization will jointly conduct the statewide from Sept 17 to Oct 17,” he said. The CM hit out at Congress, referring to former PM Rajiv Gandhi’s statement that out of every hundred rupees sent from Delhi, only 15 rupees reached the poor. Around 16 crore poor people in the state have benefited from various welfare schemes.
“Due to the welfare schemes of the central govt, 26 crore people in the country have come out of poverty, including more than 6 crore from UP.
He said that under Modi’s leadership, India had moved out of the ‘Fragile Five’ category and reached the world’s top five economies. This, he said, reflected the helplessness of the system at that time. He gave the example of Somnath temple and said that the Congress govt had opposed the visit of President Rajendra Prasad to the temple at that time. Schemes such as housing, toilets, Ujjwala, electricity, ration and drinking water had provided the poor with a foundation to move towards self-reliance,” the CM said.
“PM Modi is neither a dynastic tradition nor any hereditary legacy. Unprecedented work had been carried out in highways, expressways, railways, metros, airports, and waterways and modern trains such as Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat and Amrit Bharat had become the identity of New India. He added that AIIMS, IITs, IIMs and other higher educational institutions had also increased under him. Now, under Modi, after Jan Dhan accounts and DBT, the entire fund reached the beneficiary. He also targeted Congress for having ignored the country’s heritage. On the other hand, PM Modi had taken heritage and development together through the development of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and the organisation of the Maha Kumbh.
Today, the entire country is benefiting from his penance and spiritual discipline in the form of capable leadership.
