The board has invited tenders for appointing district-level dealers, who will be selected against a prescribed security deposit,” board secretary Bhagwati Singh said. “The move is aimed at addressing repeated complaints about textbooks not reaching the market or schools on time.

The board plans to ensure that all authorised dealers receive the books by Feb 2027, months before the start of the new session. A total of 70 books covering 36 subjects will be published. The firms will supply books directly to dealers based on the demand raised for different classes and subjects. At the high school level, English, science, mathematics and social science textbooks will follow the NCERT curriculum. At the intermediate level, NCERT-based books will cover subjects including physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, history, geography, civics, sociology, economics, business studies, accountancy, psychology and home science.

Prayagraj : The UP Board will appoint authorised textbook dealers in all 75 districts to ensure students don’t face shortages of prescribed books when the new academic session begins in 2027-28. The board is preparing textbooks for more than 1 crore students for 2027-28. The printing tender is expected to be issued in Oct, with printing and publication scheduled for completion by Jan 2027.

The selected dealers are expected to be finalised in Nov and their details will be shared with the three printing firms empanelled by the board. The board will retain its own content for Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu textbooks.
