Addressing the valedictory session, former director general of prisons and current UP subordinate services selection commission chairman SN Sabat said modern prison administration extends beyond ‘crime and punishment’ and must prioritize reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration. Director general, prisons and correctional services, PC Meena said the programme highlighted successful practices adopted across states, including Telangana, Punjab and MP. The programme brought together prison officers from several states to discuss correctional practices. He urged officials to continuously upgrade their knowledge and professional skills.
