The demonstration cited allegations of misbehaviour by Rahul Gandhi with a woman Delhi Police personnel at Jantar Mantar and alleged inaction by the Congress leadership on complaints of sexual harassment by 11 women students at Jawaharlal Nehru University against Congress MP Prof Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.

Protesters raised slogans including “Nari Samman Mein, BJP Maidan Mein,” “Jo Betiyon Ka Shoshan Kare, Us Congress Par Dhikkar Hai,” and “Rahul Gandhi Sharm Karo. They also termed the Congress campaign line “Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon” as hollow. Women workers assembled at Azad Park in Lahurabir in the afternoon and marched in a procession to the Congress office, carrying placards, banners and posters attacking the party’s record and leadership. The protesters demanded strict action by the party. Addressing the gathering, regional president Sunita Rajesh Singh and city president Pooja Dixit alleged that despite action by JNU’s internal committee, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi had not expelled the MP. They also claimed the Jantar Mantar incident reflected an anti-women mindset.
