Prayagraj: The department of mechanical engineering, MNNIT Allahabad, organised a one-day educational visit and project demonstration for students and faculty members of Institute of Engineering and Rural Technology (IERT), Prayagraj, on Monday.

The visit was organised under the scientific social responsibility activity of a research project on the ‘Prototype Design and Performance Analysis of an Energy Efficient Domestic Biogas Cook-Stove Burner’. It aimed to provide students with practical exposure to biogas production, utilisation, combustion, emission measurement and energy-efficient cook-stove technology. Head of the mechanical engineering department, Prof Rajeev Srivastava, highlighted the relevance of traditional knowledge and cow dung-based resources in biogas production. He also spoke about integrating biogas, waste management and renewable energy for sustainable rural development. The visit provided hands-on exposure to renewable-energy research and helped bridge classroom learning with practical applications. Download the TOI App.
