An official said the process of suspending the licences of two food business operators was underway, while cases were being filed against one establishment for operating without a licence. The enforcement teams have been instructed to ensure that action is taken while following fairness, transparency and due legal process,” the official said. Meanwhile, UPFSDA commissioner Roshan Jacob directed the enforcement teams to not unnecessarily harass small shopkeepers and retail sellers. “The aim of the campaign is to take effective action, as per rules, against traders involved in serious irregularities, adulterators, and establishments manufacturing or selling misbranded food items.
