Crystal methamphetamine is a highly addictive synthetic stimulant

Lucknow: In a first for Lucknow and possibly Uttar Pradesh, Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has arrested two women and seized 100 grams of the highly addictive stimulant drug crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ‘ice’, worth around ₹10 lakh. The two women, aged 36 and 40, were allegedly operating as wholesalers of the synthetic drug. A CBN team intercepted the women near Sushma Hospital on Oct 22 following a tip-off and seized the drug.

One is a resident of Rae Bareli, while the other belongs to Lucknow. Investigators suspect the duo was part of a supply chain catering to the demand for narcotics at nightclubs. The agency is now trying to determine whether the consignment was part of a larger drug distribution network or an isolated transaction. Sources indicated that the drug may have been manufactured in a laboratory in Madhya Pradesh. Investigators are examining this possibility as part of efforts to trace the origin of the consignment.
