UP Agricultural Exports Surge with New Board Initiative
Dinesh Pratap Singh, the minister of state (independent charge) for horticulture and agricultural trade, announced that a new Board will facilitate connections between farmers in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and international markets, enhancing agricultural exports.
Singh highlighted that previously, exporters were predominantly based in major cities, but now they are active throughout all 75 districts in the state. “Currently, around 3,000 exporters have emerged in the state and are playing a key role in exporting farmers’ produce to international markets,” he stated.
He noted a significant increase in export values, with figures rising from Rs 727 crore in 2016-17 to Rs 1,132 crore projected for 2025-26. Agricultural and horticultural products from UP are now being shipped to various countries, including the United States, UAE, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Australia, Canada, and Sweden.
