The 31st annual group meeting of the All India Coordinated Research Project on Rabi Pulses is set to take place at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in Kanpur on August 29 and 30. This event will focus on discussions regarding new technologies and future research programs aimed at enhancing the research, production, crop improvement, and protection of rabi pulse crops.
The meeting will gather industry professionals and researchers to share insights and strategies for advancing the field of rabi pulses, which are crucial for agricultural sustainability and food security in India.
On the 2nd day deliberations will be held towards presentation and approval of the final technical programme for the year 2026-27. The event will be jointly organised under the aegis of Bharatiya Dalhan Anusandhan Sansthan, Kanpur and CSAUAT, Kanpur. The inaugural ceremony will be chaired by Dr ML Jat, Secretary, Krishi Anusandhan Evam Shiksha Vibhag and Director General, Bharatiya Krishi Anusandhan Parishad, New Delhi. The ceremony will be graced by the presence of Dr D K Yadav, deputy director general (Crop Science), Dr SK Jha, assistant director general, Dr GP Dixit, director, Dalhan Anusandhan Sansthan, Kanpur, and Dr Sanjeev Gupta, VC, CSAUAT, Kanpur. During the two-day meeting, various technical sessions related to crop improvement, crop protection and crop production will be organized. The meeting will also review frontline demonstrations and breeder seed production, national and international collaboration, and collaborative research programmes of various institutions including ICARDA, ICRISAT, NIPGR, BARC, NCIPM and NBAIM.
