Gorakhpur : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya marked the culmination of a long-standing movement and alleged that those opposed to Lord Ram felt uncomfortable with the city’s renewed grandeur.
He stressed that unity among India’s 140 crore people was essential, adding that collective progress would strengthen the nation, while divisions could weaken it. Yogi also recalled the Vaishnav Kumbh organised in Vrindavan after the 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh, saying the event was held during the Covid-19 outbreak. If India’s 1.4 billion citizens worked together, he said, no force in the world could stand against the country.
Addressing a tribute meeting at Gorakhnath Temple on the 57th death anniversary of Mahant Digvijaynath and the 12th death anniversary of Mahant Avaidyanath, Yogi said the transformation of Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project, the development of Vindhyachal Dham and large-scale religious gatherings reflected a broader cultural resurgence. He said people should remain united and confident about the direction in which the country was moving. Drawing a parallel to the Ramayana character Kalanemi, Yogi said devotees should stay alert to efforts to mislead society. He said the institution played a key role in promoting education, including for women and Sanskrit studies, and contributed to the development of higher education in eastern Uttar Pradesh. He said the gathering was completed successfully through the blessings of Banke Bihari and Radharani, adding that such occasions reflected the power of faith and spirituality. Describing Gorakshpeeth as an institution dedicated to the broader ideals of Sanatan Dharm, the chief minister said it does not discriminate on the basis of sect, denomination, individual or caste. he said everyone receives equal respect at the Peeth irrespective of their spiritual lineage While different traditions may have distinct modes of worship.
Paying tribute to Mahant Digvijaynath, the chief minister highlighted his contributions to education and social welfare, particularly through the establishment of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad nearly a century ago. Yogi further stressed the need for unity among all sections of society, saying the ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam could be realised only when people moved forward with a shared purpose and voice. Speaking in different voices and moving in different directions, however, would lead to setbacks rather than progress.
