Varanasi: High drama unfolded in Ballia on Sunday when two youths climbed a mobile tower near the Shiv temple in Inamipur Narhi under Nagra police station limits and threatened to end their lives if action was not taken on their complaints alleging fake documents, corruption and irregularities in govt schools.
Ballia SP Omvir Singh said that after receiving information about the incident, Nagra police immediately reached the spot and spoke to the duo. In a video message forwarded to Nagra police and others gathered near the tower, the duo accused the district basic education officer of collusion and corruption over their complaint that their relatives had secured teaching jobs using fake documents. Officials from the district administration, basic education department and police continued trying to convince the duo to come down till late evening, but they remained firm on their demand for immediate action against their relatives. “They mentioned that their grievance was not related to police and demanded that the district magistrate and basic education officer be called. Two officials from the district administration and basic education department reached the spot and were trying to convince them to come down, he added.
