The body of a 25-year-old trader from Bangarmau in Unnao, who had jumped into the Ganga River five days prior, was found near gate number 21 of the Ganga Barrage in Kanpur on Wednesday, according to police reports.

The body was recovered about 62 km from Bangarmau. He reached Nanamau Ghat on a motorcycle around 2 pm on Sept 19 and parked the motorcycle before jumping into Ganga from the bridge, according to Israr’s brothers.
Family members identified the trader, Israr Mohammad, by his clothes and taweez, Nawabganj Inspector Rajkesar said. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Israr was the youngest of four sons of Mohammad Rais, a grocery store owner and resident of Bhikharipur Patasia village in Bangarmau.
