Addressing an SBSP ‘Samajik Samrasta Rally’ in Deoria, Rajbhar renewed his demand for sub-categorisation within the 27% OBC reservation, saying the issue should be pursued after a caste census.
Referring to the debate on OBC sub-categorisation, Rajbhar said the matter had been raised at both state and central levels, pointing to Rohini Commission set up to study how benefits are shared within the OBC quota. He argued that while OBC reservation has been in place for over three decades, its benefits have remained concentrated among a limited number of communities, and called for a more equitable distribution. Rajbhar also attacked Samajwadi Party and Congress, alleging that despite being in power for long periods, they failed to ensure adequate representation and reservation gains for all backward communities. Targeting SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, he questioned the party’s record on representation of the Rajbhar community and alleged irregularities in recruitments during previous govts.
Lucknow: UP cabinet minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday said the state could be divided into four parts in the future and asserted that if Purvanchal is carved out as a separate state, a person from the Rajbhar community could become its chief minister.
He further criticised SP on issues including reservation in promotions, renaming of districts and parks linked to Dalit icons, and invoked the 1995 Lucknow guest house incident.
