JHANSI: A 27-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death at a rented house in Jhansi’s Sipri Bazar area, with police suspecting her husband’s involvement. They were informed on Aug 31 about a quarrel between the couple, according to police.
Police said Yash fled after the incident. SP City Preeti Singh said police reached the house after receiving information about a dispute between the couple. She said Yash was wanted in the case and would be arrested soon.
Yash allegedly assaulted Shivani before locking the room from outside and leaving. An FIR was registered following a complaint from Shivani’s family, and police teams were formed to trace him.
Shivani, who was from Madhya Pradesh’s Datia in Indergarh area, had been living in Jhansi with her sister Muskan and brother Aniket for around three months. Her family alleged that her husband, Yash Thakur, a Gwalior resident, had assaulted her over minor issues after their marriage.
