Gorakhpur : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday halted the traditional Vijayadashami procession in Gorakhpur after hearing the siren of an ambulance carrying a critically ill patient, giving priority to emergency medical care over the event’s schedule and VIP protocol.
The incident occurred near the main gate of Gorakhnath temple, where a large crowd had assembled to watch the procession led by Yogi in his role as Gorakshpeethadhishwar. With tight security in place, the ambulance reached the congested area and struggled to move forward through the gathering. As soon as the siren was heard near his vehicle, the chief minister instructed security personnel to immediately clear a passage.
