Lucknow: Welcoming Union Cabinet’s decision to increase the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central govt employees and pensioners, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday called it a “highly commendable” step.
“The Union Cabinet’s approval today, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , of a 3% increase in DA for central govt employees and DR for pensioners is highly commendable. This increase, effective from July 1, 2026, will help protect the financial interests of 48.54 lakh central govt employees and 68.71 lakh pensioners and ensure greater ease in their lives. The scheme, with an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore and running until the 2039-40 financial year, will give new strength to the resolve of Atmanirbhar Bharat , the CM wrote.

“Through it, India will emerge as a major global hub for container manufacturing and exports,” Yogi said. In a post on ‘X’, Yogi congratulated the employees and thanked PM for this announcement ahead of Diwali . He also congratulated PM for the Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme, calling the decision far-sighted. He described the scheme as an important step towards developing a world-class manufacturing ecosystem in India that would help in reducing dependence on imports and strengthening the supply chain.
