Youth stabs to death a man in Saadatganj area of Lucknow and flees
LUCKNOW: A 24-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his acquaintance following a heated argument near Ambedkar Park in Lucknow’s Saadatganj area on Saturday evening.
Police said Rehan had gone for a walk with his acquaintance, Uzaifa, a resident of Gulab Ki Bagiya. The incident gained widespread attention after a video purportedly showing the aftermath of the attack and the accused fleeing the scene went viral on social media. The two were near Ambedkar Park in Azad Nagar’s C Block when an argument broke out. A video that surfaced online shortly after the incident allegedly captures the moments following the stabbing and shows the accused running away from the spot. Police are examining the footage, which is expected to form a key part of the investigation. Senior police officers, including DCP (West) Jitendra Srivastava and ACP Ranjit Kumar, visited the crime scene and reviewed the evidence. Police have initiated inquest proceedings and are awaiting the post-mortem report.
His wife, Seeba, said he had left home around 6 pm on Saturday and the family was later informed about the attack. The murder has shocked the victim’s family, as Rehan had returned home only three days earlier after being released from Agra jail. The victim, identified as Rehan, a resident of Ramnagar, suffered multiple stab wounds, including a deep injury to his neck. He was rushed to the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU), where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
