Residents said the dog had recently given birth to puppies, which a jackal had allegedly killed, triggering a sudden change in its behaviour. “The dog had no visible physical injuries,” local Year Ali said. The attacks began in Hatkaluha village before spreading to neighbouring areas. The cause of the attacks could not be independently established. Residents eventually cornered and killed the dog later in the evening to prevent further attacks. The injured are being treated and monitored for possible rabies exposure. Download the TOI App.
