Alia Bhatt knows how to make a statement without going overboard. And her latest appearance at the special screening of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film, Ramayana, is a good example.

The saree, priced at Rs 14,500 on the brand’s website, had a rather understated feel. the blouse is said to cost a whopping Rs 12,00,000 according to a Rediff report While the saree comes with a very affordable price. It wasn’t heavily embellished or overloaded with details. Instead, its beauty lay in the fabric and the way it was styled. Alia paired the saree with a custom raw silver blouse by Rimple and Harpreet’s Rah Jewels. Designed in a sleeveless halter style, the blouse featured a scoop neckline and a backless cut. Its heavily embellished surface had the look of jewellery, with gold, bronze and turquoise details adding to its appeal. Her beauty look was equally fuss-free. Alia left her hair open in a centre-parted style, with soft waves framing her face. For makeup, she went with pink eyeshadow, kohl-lined eyes, mascara, rosy cheeks, a touch of highlighter and glossy pink lips. There’s a reason this look works so well for the festive season. Alia didn’t go for a heavily embroidered saree or a head-to-toe traditional ensemble. Instead, she let the blouse do most of the talking. It’s also an easy styling idea to borrow for Diwali. A plain linen or cotton saree can look completely different when paired with a statement blouse. You could try a metallic halter blouse, a jewellery-inspired design or even a structured corset-style piece.
