Salman Khan recently took off his T-shirt on the Bigg Boss 20 stage and showed off his physique while responding to comments about his age and appearance. His fitness trainer Rakkesh Udiyar revealed in 2026 that biryani remains the actor’s favourite cheat meal.

But there is an interesting detail hiding behind that famously fit image: his reported food preferences are far less “celebrity diet” than you might expect. Salman has a controlled approach to cheat meals and occasionally enjoys biryani without letting it derail his overall eating routine, according to the trainer. Salman’s sister Arpita Khan has described him as a “foodie” who finds home-cooked food “the most comforting”. She told IANS that the family’s go-to dishes include mutton biryani, beetroot chicken, dal gosht, desi jungli chicken, rajma chawal and crispy bhindi. She described it as the family’s special homemade dish and said it “tops it all”. His trainer has also said that Salman prefers food cooked at home by his mother, Salma Khan. In an interview, Rakkesh recalled Salman asking for “ghar ka khana” and said his meals commonly include eggs, fruits, fish or chicken, vegetables and some rice.

The moment instantly put the spotlight back on the body the actor has maintained for decades. Biryani is indeed one of the foods associated with Salman. But ask his family about his food preferences and the picture becomes much more homely. Unlike the elaborate food one might imagine being served to a Bollywood superstar, this is a family creation that apparently became a favourite at home. And Salman’s attachment to home food is not just something his sister has spoken about.
