That history turned out to be a real advantage, according to the reel. As known from both the caption and the reel, the name of the farm is Oestergro which is Denmark’s first rooftop farm, and its home has an interesting past. It was created on top of an old car-auction house. What makes the project stand out is how open it is. Community members pay in advance of the harvest season and, in return, receive a weekly share of the harvest. It’s a simple arrangement, and it links the people eating the food to the people growing it. The most interesting part of the reel is, anyone can also turn up on a weekly volunteer day to learn about organic farming. There’s a farm-to-table restaurant too, set in the rooftop greenhouse, which hosts weekly dinner parties. So the farm feeds people, teaches them and then sits them down at the same table.
