NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia on Wednesday announced that the IPL 2027 auction will be held in Goa in December this year. After hosting the IPL auction at three overseas venues in the previous three years, the BCCI will bring the event back to India for the 2027 edition.
“This year, after hosting the IPL auction in three foreign locations, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi last year, we are going to host it in Goa in the month of December,” Saikia said, as quoted by ANI. The past three editions of the auction were held in Dubai, Jeddah (mega auction) and Abu Dhabi. The BCCI is yet to announce the retention deadline for the IPL 2027 season, which is usually set towards the end of November. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will enter the new season as defending champions after winning back-to-back IPL titles in 2025 and 2026.
