Mark Wood delivered a standout performance for England during Day two of the 2nd Test Match against the West Indies at Trent Bridge. In a post on social media, Wood said the decision came after medical advice and a difficult year with injuries. Wood has also dealt with ankle and elbow injuries during his career and said he had always tried to return stronger after setbacks.
Wood made his Test debut in 2015 and was part of England’s last Ashes-winning team, taking the wicket of He played an important role in England’s 2019 ODI World Cup-winning campaign at home, picking up 18 wickets in 10 matches.
