Shubman Gill has joined the Fazilka Falcons squad for the ongoing Sher-E-Punjab T20 League 2026, giving the side a major boost after a difficult start to the tournament. They currently sit fifth in the six-team Punjab T20 League 2026 points table and will be hoping Gill’s arrival can help turn their campaign around. The 26-year-old is India’s captain in Tests and ODIs but is currently not part of the T20I team, giving him an opportunity to return to the shortest format through the Punjab league. Gill scored 732 runs in 16 matches at an average of 45.75 and a strike rate of 196.22, with a highest score of 104.
Gill is among a select group of India stars featuring in the Punjab T20 League this season. He is joined by fellow opening batter Abhishek Sharma and India pacer Arshdeep Singh , who are also part of the high-profile domestic tournament. The Fazilka Falcons have already played three matches this season, but Gill has missed all three. Sanvir Singh has led the team in his absence. The Falcons have managed just one win from their opening three games, suffering two defeats in the process. Gill’s availability comes after a hectic international schedule. With the Fazilka Falcons struggling near the bottom of the table, Gill’s arrival could prove significant as they look to revive their campaign in the remainder of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League.
