Stage set for Rajasthan Cricket Association elections on September 29 as administrator Sawant

Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan

The notice calls for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections to the executive committee for the 2026–2029 term, scheduled to take place on Sept 29 at 11:00am at the RCA Academy here. Furthermore, per High Court orders dated June 16, 2026, representatives from the Sawai Madhopur DCA remain barred from participating or voting in the AGM pending further judicial proceedings. The nomination process for candidates seeking to contest the RCA elections will take place from Sept 23-26. After nominations are filed, the nomination papers will be scrutinized on Sept 27, and eligible candidates will be published. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until Sept 28, leading up to the final voting and counting of votes scheduled for Sept 29, when the results will be declared on the same day. Alongside the elections, the general body will confirm the minutes from the Extraordinary General Body Meeting held on June 26, 2026, and consider the formal adoption of the audited statement of accounts for the 2024–25 financial year.

Former state election commissioner AK Pandey (IAS retd), has been appointed as the independent electoral officer to oversee the polling process, assisted by Pushpendra Singh Hada, former district judge, as assistant electoral officer. A critical element of the upcoming election centers on the composition of the electoral college. The voter list has been expanded to include three newly formed district units – Didwana-Kuchaman, Balotra, and Khairthal-Tijara – alongside designated representatives from existing affiliated District Cricket Associations (DCAs) across the state. The eligible voting pool also features registered former international players, with ex-international cricketers Gagan Khoda and Pankaj Singh explicitly named on the electoral roll. Conversely, district units currently operating without elected executives are represented through convenors of ad hoc committees, such as Rajesh Kumar Tambi for DCA Jaipur and Rajesh Bishnoi for DCA Nagaur. Copies of the official election notice have been formally dispatched to key stakeholders, including the secretary and CEO of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Rajasthan State Sports Council, and the registrar of co-operative societies, Jaipur.
