The Timberwolves guard is asking $2.6 million for the four-bedroom unit, which is $400,000 above the $2.2 million he paid in August 2023. The 3,495-square-foot home sits in The Trust, an Uptown building with only seven residences. Minnesota landed LaMelo Ball and Josh Green in a four-team deal in July 2026, and the Hornets got former Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid plus future draft assets. The 25-year-old guard had spent six seasons in Charlotte, which picked him third overall in 2020. He won Rookie of the Year in 2021 and made his first All-Star team a year later. Ball bought the third-floor unit for $2.2 million in August 2023. The $2.6 million ask is $400,000 higher, and the final figure depends on what a buyer offers. Ball played 72 games last season and averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 assists and 4.8 rebounds.

LaMelo Ball has put a Charlotte condo on the market. The trade is the obvious backdrop. The numbers tell the rest of the story. Charlotte was a mixed run on the court. The Hornets still fell short of a playoff spot, and Ball never reached the postseason there.

Erika Mendoza of Coldwell Banker Realty has the sale, and the $2.6 million figure is an ask, not a sale price. Minnesota has paired Ball with Anthony Edwards, another member of the 2020 draft class, and coach Chris Finch likes the early returns. In the home opener, a 117-94 win over Toronto, Ball scored 15 points, hit four of five threes and handed out eight assists. The condo covers about 3,495 square feet as a corner unit with views of the Charlotte skyline. The building went up in 1967 and was later converted into upscale residences. He later bought it for $2.47 million in May 2024 through an LLC, in an off-market deal. The unit had been listed at $2.5 million. The upper unit cost $270,000 more than the condo now on the market. At $2.6 million, the listed condo would sell for $130,000 above what Ball paid for its upstairs neighbor. Much of the money traces to the five-year rookie max extension Ball signed with the Hornets in July 2023, a deal that could be worth as much as $260 million. Before the 2020 draft, Puma gave Ball a long-term shoe deal reported at $100 million. On the court, Ball became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, at 19 years and 140 days. His best scoring year came in 2024-25, at 25.2 points a game, with a career-high 50 against Milwaukee. The site’s career-earnings tally reaches $241.5 million, a total that counts contract years still to come.

Both are estimates built from public data, not reported figures.

“He’s always in a great mood,” Finch said. The listing comes a few months after Minnesota acquired Ball in a four-team trade in July. Ball also owns the unit directly above, which is not listed. In Minnesota, Ball appears to go for a fresh start as a new chapter of his basketball begins. It has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a half bath. Polished marble floors with gold and gray veining run through the main rooms. High ceilings and large windows bring in plenty of daylight. The kitchen has modern cabinets, stainless-steel appliances and a big waterfall-style island, and the listing also points to wine storage and designer lighting. A custom wet bar handles the entertaining. The dressing room stands out most. Glass-front cabinets and built-in storage make it feel like a high-end fashion boutique, with space for clothes, shoes and accessories. Outdoor space comes in two forms. The unit has its own terrace with a kitchen setup and a dining area, and residents share a rooftop terrace overlooking the skyline. Two assigned spots in a secured garage are included. The Trust sits on South Tryon Street in Uptown. With just seven private units, it offers more privacy than a large condo tower. Sports names pop up around the address. Michael Jordan, a former minority owner of the Hornets, also owns property there. The location puts the condo close to the financial district, restaurants and cultural venues. Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers, is nearby. So are Spectrum Center, the Hornets’ arena, and Truist Field, home of the Charlotte Knights. Yes, one more unit in the same building, and it is not for sale. Ball first rented the unit directly above the listed condo from former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. Together, the two homes formed a two-level compound. Ball is reportedly keeping the upper unit for now. Get the latest Sports News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
