Brock Purdy entered the 2022 NFL Draft as the very last pick. They married in March 2024 in Des Moines and welcomed their daughter Millie Joleen in July 2025. No fanfare, no guaranteed roster spot, and no certainty that his professional football career would even last a season. But while the football world was busy writing him off, Jenna Brandt already knew exactly who he was.
The two had crossed paths long before the NFL came calling, back on the campus of Iowa State University, where Purdy played football and Brandt competed on the volleyball court.
Jenna Brandt was born on October 26, 1999, in Sumner, Iowa, a small town in the northeastern part of the state. She was a multi-sport athlete at Sumner-Fredericksburg High School, serving as a volleyball team captain twice before graduating in 2018. The couple became parents in July 2025 when their daughter, Millie Joleen Purdy, arrived.
They announced the birth through a joint post on social media, sharing the first photo of their family of three. Track and field was also part of her athletic resume, but volleyball was always her primary focus. The 49ers quarterback is now heading into a new NFL season as both a father and a husband, with Brandt having been by his side through arguably the most dramatic rise in recent NFL memory.
