She finished college with a degree in kinesiology and later moved to Iceland in 2017 to pursue professional soccer.

“Being a mom changed so many things in my life and changed how I looked at so many things,” Brittany said during the Yahoo interview. “It’s made me more intentional, more purposeful and, honestly, more motivated to keep going and keep showing my kids that there are no boundaries in front of you,” Brittany said in the same interview. Those words fit her own story.Brittany played four seasons as a forward at the University of Texas at Tyler. That chapter did not become the long playing career she once imagined.

She became part of the Kansas City Current ownership group in 2020. Patrick Mahomes joined the group in 2023. The club then opened CPKC Stadium in 2024, the first stadium built specifically for a professional women’s sports team.

Because brittany owned part of the team, patrick also said the family attended Current games and practices. Because sterling is seeing the sport from Brittany’s side, that small moment carries more meaning. For Brittany, that journey offers a useful lesson. She did not get everything she wanted from soccer as a player. She found another way to stay close to the sport and help create opportunities for other women. He added that he did not want to force Sterling into sports, but admitted it was exciting to see those tendencies appear so early. She can watch her mother work around professional players, visit the Current’s stadium and learn about the game Brittany once played herself.
