Patrick Mahomes spent much of his 2026 offseason working through a serious knee injury. The comment came as Mahomes prepared for Kansas City’s Week 4 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. Sterling is 5, Bronze is 3, and Golden is 20 months old, according to the Heavy report.

Because he spent much of the offseason away from home, in a recent interview, Mahomes explained that Brittany had to take on more responsibility. He also revealed why getting back to his children became one of his biggest personal goals.

Speaking with Mitch Holthus on “The Chiefs Kingdom Show” at Arrowhead Stadium earlier this week, Mahomes explained that his recovery affected the whole family. The quarterback said he spent about seven hours a day at the rehab facility when the family would normally spend that time together on vacation or back in Texas. “She had to kind of take on that role on even more because I wasn’t at the house,” Mahomes said during “The Chiefs Kingdom Show. “It’s a full commitment from the full family,” he said during the same Arrowhead interview. He added that Brittany did “a great job” leading the household while he worked at the rehab facility. “Honestly, the toughest part was at the beginning, not being able to get up and chase my kids around,” Mahomes said at training camp.

Brittany Mahomes took on more at home with their three children While the Chiefs quarterback focused on his recovery. Mahomes recently opened up about that side of his comeback, giving Brittany credit for keeping their family routine going while he spent long hours at the rehab facility. That meant Brittany handled more of the daily routine with their three children, Sterling, Bronze and Golden. Mahomes specifically mentioned Bronze’s T-ball games and Sterling’s soccer activities. Being able to attend those moments gave him a clear sign that his recovery was moving forward.
