His grandmother was also beside him during the May 7 visit.
“My mom, she’s actually a nurse,” Hill said. “Me and my mom talk a lot about giving back,” he told the Associated Press. My family taught me that and I want to teach my kids the same thing,” he said. “They are out here grinding, man,” he told KSHB on May 7, 2020.
“And she always comes home and talks about how some people don’t care about them risking their lives every day. “That’s the way I was raised. Speaking to KSHB that day, Hill made it clear that both women had influenced the way he viewed his NFL success. “Being on this platform means a lot to me. I am always doing my best to give back. For Hill, having an NFL platform came with an opportunity to help people. He wanted his children to understand that success should also come with a willingness to share what they have. “I can’t do nothing but just be thankful for them. The same way I’m grinding on the field, they’re grinding right here in their department. They are winning their own Super Bowl.”
That comparison came from a player who had just helped the Kansas City Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV. But Hill wanted the hospital staff to know that their hard work deserved recognition too.
