The NFL suspended Rechsteiner on August 6 for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. The New Orleans Saints, who had signed him in May after a tryout at rookie camp, waived him on August 30 during the final cut to 53. So he entered the 2026 season without a team, without a paycheck, and carrying a suspension that follows him to any franchise that eventually picks him up. Rechsteiner went undrafted out of Jacksonville State in April, where he finished four years with 53 catches, 629 yards, and seven touchdowns. His uncle Rick Steiner and his father were inducted together as the Steiner Brothers in 2022. His cousin Bronson Rechsteiner now wrestles in WWE as Bron Breakker, after his own brief undrafted stint with Baltimore in 2020.
Because of who he comes from, his name drew interest partly. When New Orleans announced his signing, they led with his father’s famous catchphrase: “Holla if ya hear me. Rechsteiner himself signed a WWE Next In Line NIL deal while still in college, which tells you something about where his long-term focus likely sits.
The line she put out – “When all I wanna do is film WAG content but my fiancé decided to get suspended from the NFL for 6 weeks” – went viral on X. The “Saints receiver” tag that circulated when Neva’s post went viral was technically accurate for about three months of an offseason, not an established career. Neva Clark didn’t mean for the internet to have this much fun at her expense. The fiancée of Brock Rechsteiner posted a clip complaining that his six-game NFL suspension had killed the WAG content she had been planning to film. She later clarified it was a joke. But once something lands like that, the clarification rarely travels as far as the original. He got the full six-game ban, which meant he could practice and play preseason football, but the clock on the suspension only started once regular rosters were set. If someone signs him in October, he’d still have to sit out whatever games remain on that ban. That’s not a great pitch to any front office looking to add a receiver mid-season. The Tennessee Titans looked at him during rookie minicamp. New Orleans liked what they saw at their camp and gave him a shot. It didn’t work out. His father is Scott Rechsteiner, better known as WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner. A lot, actually. The WAG content space on social media has exploded as more partners and fiancées of professional athletes have built real audiences around their relationships. The problem with building that kind of platform around an undrafted player on a training camp deal is that the roster spot was never guaranteed to begin with. Rechsteiner never played in a regular-season NFL game.
