Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka are on track for a potential rematch in the US Open final if both players win their respective semifinal matches. Rybakina previously triumphed over Sabalenka in the Australian Open final earlier this year, winning in three sets. Sabalenka’s next challenge will be against Jessica Pegula in the other semifinal.
Semifinal Matchup Set: Kazakhstan’s Star to Face Coco Gauff
The 27-year-old player from Kazakhstan rallied to win her quarterfinal match after dropping the first set, securing her spot in the semifinals. She will compete against former US Open champion Coco Gauff for a place in the final.
“It’s just a number right now. My goal is to win the tournaments which I play,” she stated, emphasizing her focus on tournament victories over personal milestones.
