John Cena used the Raw ring in Brooklyn to launch the John Cena Classic, but the night also changed hands at the top of the Intercontinental division. Ethan Page beat Chad Gable for the title in the opening match at Barclays Center on Nov. Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn had already traded words ahead of Crown Jewel, Cody Rhodes drew a visit from Randy Orton, and the main event fell apart into a brawl. Here is how the show went, segment by segment. Gable started fast, but Page went after his neck and kept the pressure there through two commercial breaks. The champion hit an Angle Slam through the announce table and locked in the ankle lock twice. Page escaped both times. A Chaos Theory only got two when Gable’s neck gave out on the bridge, and a Twist of Fate gave Page his own near fall. Gable tried one more ankle lock, but Page rolled through and sent him face first into an exposed turnbuckle. An Egoplex ended it, and Page left Brooklyn as the new champion. Rodriguez then took over with power moves, and SKY dodged an elbow drop to make a comeback. The match broke down into chaos. Green landed the Unprettier on Perez, but Rodriguez pulled her out of the ring to save the pin. Judgment Day took the fall. Cena got a loud pop and ran to the ring, where a covered title sat on a pedestal. The new championship looks like the old spinner belt. Orton then arrived to promise a Last Man Standing win at Crown Jewel, and he brought up his match with Dusty Rhodes. The Vision used quick tags and an early rush to control the six-man, but Penta and Dragon Lee kept pulling it back with dives and kicks. Late in the match, Logan Paul tried to pass the Money in the Bank briefcase to Theory on the apron, and Penta stopped him. Evans hit a Red Dot on Theory, then dodged a spear from Breakker, who hit the ring post. Reed leveled Penta, and Breakker finally speared Evans for the pin. The Vision now face Evans and Penta for the World Tag Team titles at Crown Jewel.
Cody Rhodes came out as the first entrant, and Cena admitted he was wrong about his earlier doubts on Rhodes carrying the company.
