The September 14 episode of RAW took place in the CDRX Arena in Mexico City. It marked the return of Roman Reigns to in-ring action on the red brand for the first time since wrestling Solo Sikoa on the debut episode of RAW on Netflix in January 2025. He defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Penta, who had won a No.1 contender’s tournament between luchador stars from RAW, SmackDown, and AAA. The last time saw Reigns able to retain his title, back in 2023. So, it will be interesting to see this blockbuster match go down at WWE Money in the Bank 2026 PLE.
The duo engaged in a hard-hitting and captivating combat involving high stakes. Both Reigns and Penta delivered a blockbuster match befitting the main event of an historic episode of Monday Night RAW. Towards the end, Penta even hit a thunderous Mexican Destroyer on Reigns, but he kicked out of the pinfall. The OTC fired back by hitting a Superman Punch and Spear to end the match and hand Penta a crushing defeat. As the luchador star left ringside and Reigns was still reeling from the effects of the war he went through, LA Knight came down to the ring. The Megastar looked at the wounded Reigns and hit a BFT on him. This led Reigns to pull himself out of the ring. In a post-match clip posted by WWE on X, The Tribal Chief agreed to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Megastar at the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. This will mark the second time both men will square off in a singles bout for the World title at a major WWE PLE. However, it has been a long time since that night, and both men have come a long way in their careers.
On the September 14 edition of RAW, Knight pushed The OTC beyond his limit, leading to Reigns granting him a title shot. WWE ‘s road to its next Premium Live Event, Money in the Bank, has begun, and a major match is reportedly set to be the headliner for the show. This will see The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns defend his World Heavyweight Championship against The Megastar LA Knight. He has been feuding with Reigns and The Bloodline for weeks now.
