Capcom has released a gameplay trailer for Arjun , the next DLC fighter coming to Street Fighter 6. The Indian character, who was formerly a police officer before being framed for his partner’s murder, uses yoga breathing techniques along with wind and earth-based attacks to take on his opponents. Arjun will join Street Fighter 6 on October 13 as part of the game’s Year 4 Character Pass. Howling Destruction is his Level 1 Super Art, while Instant Oblivion launches opponents into the air and away from him, allowing Arjun to set up a Divine Pillar. Arjun’s Level 3 Super Art is called Yaksha’s Order. The visual touches fit with his character profile, which lists Bollywood as one of his interests. Arjun will be unlocked on October 13 for players who own or purchase the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass. His first outfit depicts him on the run, pursuing vengeance, while Outfit 2 presents an idealised version of the character who has moved beyond his quest for justice. Outfit 2 can be unlocked by maxing out Arjun’s Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or by purchasing it with Fighter Coins. Arjun is the second character in Street Fighter 6’s Year 4 lineup after Yasmine.
The remaining announced fighters are Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and Bosch, a character from the game’s story mode who was previously believed to be dead. The new gameplay trailer follows the format of previous character reveals, showing his normal attacks, special moves, combos and Super Arts. Arjun served as a police officer in India until his trusted partner was murdered and he was framed for the crime. He is now on the run while trying to uncover the truth behind his partner’s death. His fighting style centres on Yoga Breathing techniques, which let him deliver powerful strikes at the cost of some speed. His attacks can also inflict recoverable damage, meaning part of the damage can be recovered if the opponent avoids taking further hits. Arjun’s character profile also connects him to Indian culture outside of his fighting style. Bollywood is listed among his likes, alongside fossil hunting, while he dislikes undercooked biryani. Arjun’s move set combines physical attacks with techniques based on air and the ground. His Arm of Justice is a winding punch with different versions depending on the attack strength, while Cruel Shoulder allows him to charge forward with a shoulder tackle. His Breathing Ring creates a ring of air that can be followed by Breathing Shockwave, sending the ring toward opponents at different angles. Divine Pillar, meanwhile, uses air to raise a pillar of earth from the ground. The pillar’s distance and timing change depending on how the move is performed. Arjun can also combine his abilities. Using Cruel Shoulder against an active Divine Pillar allows him to grab the pillar and swing it at his opponent in different directions through a move called Justice Beyond. His abilities are not limited to attacks. Ghastly Interrogation is a command throw that initially deals recoverable damage but can inflict normal damage if the opponent already has recoverable damage. Indomitable Defense uses Arjun’s breathing technique to hyper-oxygenate his muscles and turn incoming melee attacks into counterattacks. Moral Breakdown lets him throw both fists forward, dealing recoverable damage when blocked or normal damage when it connects. His Super Arts continue the same theme While the defence is active. The move disrupts the opponent’s inner ear before transitioning into a cinematic attack. The trailer also shows Arjun performing poses during the sequence that reference Bollywood choreography.
