Epic Games has released the first teaser trailer for Chapter 7 Season 4, confirming that Sonic the Hedgehog is joining the upcoming season after months of rumours.
The brief teaser shared on the official Sonic the Hedgehog page doesn’t show the blue hedgehog directly, but it confirms that Sonic-themed content will arrive with “Overdrive,” the next Fortnite season. The X post read, “This new “Fortnite” Zone feels oddly familiar…” The teaser marks the first official confirmation of the crossover, with more announcements likely as the launch of Chapter 7 Season 4 approaches. Fortnite’s Sonic the Hedgehog crossover is now official.
Because of his proportions, some reports suggest he may not be released as a standard Fortnite skin and could instead appear as a Sidekick, a gameplay feature introduced in recent seasons. However, Epic Games has not confirmed these details.
Eggman is expected to arrive as a playable character, according to a Comicbook.com report. The teaser also hints at possible map changes, with parts of the Fortnite island expected to feature locations or mechanics associated with the Sega franchise. Sonic’s role, however, remains unclear.
