Samsung recently added a new smartphone to its A-series with the launch of Galaxy A27 in India. With up to six generations of OS upgrades and long-term security support, the new Galaxy A series is built to last. We used the pretty looking Samsung smartphone for sometime and here are our first impressions of the device.
Galaxy A27 5G Features Punch-Hole Display and Standard Battery Capacity
The Galaxy A27 5G features a punch-hole design, replacing the previous waterdrop notch seen on the Galaxy A26 5G. This change contributes to a more modern and premium appearance, aligning the device closer to Samsung’s higher-end Galaxy A and S series smartphones. The slimmer bezels further enhance its aesthetic, giving it a contemporary feel. The build quality is robust, consistent with Samsung’s recent A-series design language.
However, the device’s battery capacity raises some concerns. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. While this specification is adequate, it falls short compared to competitors that offer 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh batteries as standard in this segment. Extended testing will be necessary to evaluate its performance in real-world usage, but on paper, it appears to lag behind current industry trends regarding battery size.
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G: Display and Camera Features
The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display, boasting a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The display is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ and supports a 120Hz refresh rate alongside peak brightness levels of up to 1400 nits. This combination makes it well-suited for both gaming and content consumption, ensuring smooth scrolling and vibrant animations.
In terms of photography, the device is equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, it includes a 12MP HDR front-facing camera. The addition of OIS on the primary sensor enhances low-light photography and stabilizes video capture, addressing common challenges faced by budget and mid-range smartphones.
