Apple has announced a price hike for its Apple TV streaming service: The wider industry impact

Apple has announced a price hike for its Apple TV streaming service and the Apple One bundle in the US, effective just before its hardware launch event on September 9. The monthly subscription for standalone Apple TV has risen to $14.99 from $12.99, while the annual fee has increased from $99 to $119.

The Apple One bundle, which includes Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud storage, and other services, has also seen a price adjustment. The individual plan now costs $21.95 per month, up from $19.95, according to a report by CNBC. These changes reflect Apple’s strategy to enhance its service offerings while aligning pricing with market expectations.

When the streaming platform debuted in 2019 under the Apple TV+ branding, it entered the market at $4.99 per month, severely undercutting established competitors.

The platform has expanded its original production slate, recently adding summer box-office release “F1” alongside the new season of its flagship comedy series “Ted Lasso,” which premiered earlier this month. The latest price adjustments align Apple TV closely with competing entertainment platforms in the streaming landscape.
