Which vehicles can receive the feature
Google built-in is available across more than 100 models from 16 brands. Google is bringing Personal Intelligence to cars. The feature lets Gemini in Android Auto and Google-built-in vehicles use information from Gmail , Google Calendar, Maps, Photos, YouTube, and Search when responding to a driver. Instead of entering an address or searching through an app, users can make requests based on information already associated with their Google accounts. Supported manufacturers include Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Volvo, and Polestar, though availability varies by vehicle, country, language, and data plan.
What users need to know about privacy
The initial rollout is limited to eligible personal Google accounts belonging to users aged 18 or older.
Google says Personal Intelligence is optional. Apps aren’t connected to Gemini unless users enable the feature, and they can disable access in Gemini settings. In cars with Google built in, personalised responses appear only when the user’s phone is connected. It doesn’t support business, education, or enterprise Workspace accounts and isn’t available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK, or Nigeria.
