Reliance Jio is handing JioHome users a year of Amazon Prime Lite: The wider industry impact

The offer applies to new and existing customers on the 30 Mbps and 100 Mbps 3-in-1 JioHome plans that combine TV, OTT and Wi-Fi on a single connection. Reliance Jio is handing JioHome users a year of Amazon Prime Lite at no extra cost, a benefit rolled out as part of the company’s 10th anniversary run.

The 12-month membership includes a Prime Video subscription, covering new movies and shows, along with free and fast delivery on eligible Amazon orders. Customers on the Rs 888 and Rs 1,199 plans, and on 150 Mbps and above, are untouched by this change. They continue with the existing 24-month Amazon Prime Lite benefit, which remains the better deal of the two. The rollout begins 19 September and will reach eligible JioHome users in phases over the next two weeks.

Jio is not charging anything on top of the existing plan price for it. Claiming it is a two-tap job. Eligible users will see an Amazon Prime Lite claim banner on the MyJio home page inside their JioHome account, and activating the offer from that banner starts the clock. The free year runs from the day of activation rather than the day of announcement, so there is no penalty for claiming it late. Get the latest technology news and updates. Download the TOI App.
