Seven years later, the cloud economics firm argues it has delivered: The wider industry impact

Brothers Aran and Nikhil Khanna launched Archera in 2019 with a direct goal: help enterprises manage runaway cloud spending. Seven years later, the cloud economics firm says it has delivered more than $700 million in savings to over 2,200 businesses. Now, with enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) driving computing demand that is almost impossible to forecast, Archera has secured $15 million in Series C funding to shield companies from unexpected infrastructure bills. The fresh capital brings the company’s total funding to $38.3 million, supporting its suite of free FinOps management software alongside the expansion of its core offering.

The funding round was led by Pivot Investment Partners, with continued participation from existing backers including HighSage Ventures.

Major cloud providers offer steep discounts when organisations commit to multi-year contracts spanning one to three years. In standard software environments, these commitments help control predictable operating overhead. However, rapid developments in AI have upended conventional forecasting. A newly deployed generative AI model can multiply GPU server demand within months. Archera integrates with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud billing data in read-only mode to evaluate actual consumption patterns. From there, the platform automates and recommends purchases across both standard provider commitments and Archera’s short-term Guaranteed Commitments. The assets remain entirely inside the client’s native cloud accounts, keeping procurement control in-house.
