The road to launch

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has shared a new update on Temple, the hardware venture he has been teasing in recent months, announcing that pre-orders for the first batch of the device will open on November 1. Temple Batch 01 pre orders open November 1. In May, Goyal announced that the first 100 devices were ready to ship to select founding users, including athletes, scientists, doctors, founders and creators. At that time, he said the limited launch edition would ship before the end of 2026. The new three-month delivery window suggests that orders placed from November 1 could reach customers in early 2027.

Temple has not yet announced pricing, the number of devices in the first batch, or the exact date deliveries will begin, and said it would share more information before pre-orders open.

Temple is following a “grow slow” strategy, with a focus on maintaining quality control and ensuring customers receive a strong experience, according to Goyal. Following the ‘grow slow’ approach with temple,” Goyal said while explaining the company’s approach to fulfilling orders. In August, he said the latest version was less than half the size of the one shown earlier, and claimed it was the smallest wearable on the market by volume and the most powerful.

In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Goyal wrote, “The wait is over. Each @temple is hand-made to order and delivered to you within three months of your purchase. Along with announcing the pre-order date, Goyal also indicated that the company is taking a measured approach to scaling production. “Quality control, and also making sure we serve each customer well. It will come in six colours, with Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk marked as limited editions. Independent reports noted that he gave no hardware specifications or performance data to back that claim.
