Through the campaign, OpenAI is positioning ChatGPT Voice as a tool: The wider industry impact

The company says ChatGPT Voice, powered by its Indian voice options Neer and Leher in GPT-Live-1.1, can help users manage the many tasks that typically accompany the festival season. As households across India gear up for Diwali celebrations, OpenAI is promoting the use of ChatGPT Voice as a festive planning companion, offering suggestions for everything from budgeting and shopping to hosting family gatherings.

The company says the feature can assist families in handling shopping lists, guest management, budgeting and meal planning, allowing them to spend more time focusing on celebrations, family traditions and time together during the festive season. Through the campaign, OpenAI is positioning ChatGPT Voice as a tool that can reduce the logistical burden associated with Diwali preparations.

OpenAI noted that users can assign tasks according to individual preferences and availability, including age-appropriate roles for children. For hosts managing multiple responsibilities, the chatbot can help organise to-do lists, structure shopping trips based on available time, and recommend ways to divide responsibilities among family members. Recognising that festival plans often change unexpectedly, OpenAI also highlighted ChatGPT Voice’s ability to help users adapt when additional guests arrive at short notice. Users can explain the dishes already being prepared, available ingredients and the time remaining before an event, allowing ChatGPT to suggest quantity adjustments or quick additions to the menu.

The availability of Indian voices Neer and Leher allows users to interact in a more familiar conversational style, making it easier to discuss personal traditions, family preferences and household budgets while receiving tailored suggestions, according to OpenAI.
