Baloch Liberation Army Claims Responsibility for Recent Attacks in Balochistan
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has announced its responsibility for a series of 13 coordinated attacks across Balochistan within the past week. According to the group, these operations resulted in the deaths of 43 personnel affiliated with the Pakistani military and state-supported ‘Death Squads.’ The BLA also reported the loss of 10 of its own fighters during these engagements.
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch detailed that the attacks included road blockades and targeted strikes in various locations, specifically mentioning Besima, Kharan, Panjgur, Chagai, Surab, Qila Abdullah, and Awaran. In these operations, the group claimed to have killed two Pakistani army soldiers.
It claimed 25 personnel were killed on Sept 13 in an ambush on state-aligned local militias in Sultan Charak, Qila Abdullah, followed by a four-hour clash with army reinforcements. On Monday, it released a video purportedly showing fighters seizing 14 posts on Quetta-Taftan Highway.
BLA said it imposed multi-hour blockades on Besima-Kapuk and Quetta-Taftan trade routes to conduct snap checks and restrict troop movements, according to the statement. The group also claimed its “Fateh Squad” killed nine soldiers in Lasbela, while another operation targeted four military intelligence operatives in Jiwani. It said fighters destroyed surveillance equipment in Panjgur and burnt machinery at a lithium extraction site in Machil under its “economic blockade”. BLA said it would continue armed resistance until Pakistani security forces withdrew from the region entirely.
